Creation Calendar

In four days, on the 20th of April, The Scented Djinn Etsy Apothecary will put up for sale that long-awaited and beautifully fragrant Lavender Kyphi Supreme. Kyphi takes time to 'become' kyphi. The fragrant materials must meld and combine to create divinity in a tiny little triangle of scent. The Scented Djinn recommends this kyphi be burned on an electric heater or old-fashioned oil burner to release the subtlety of scent and the spiritual aspects of the blend. Burning on charcoal is also an option, however this creates a great deal of smoke and the kyphi burns up quickly. In May a limited edition perfume will be released, the first perfume by The Scented Djinn in a long time. This perfume diverges just a bit from the prior perfumes released by The Scented Djinn in that it is a bit more traditional than our other offerings. More information regarding that perfume will come about when the perfume makes its debut.

Lavender Kyphi Supreme On Sale 4/20

The Lavender Kyphi Supreme, the latest in the kyphi line-up, will be up for sale April 20, 2014. We started with a fat papaya, peeled and cut, then dried in a dehydrator. We then mixed the dried papaya with a nice dark, rich red wine, and let it soak. Both the dried fruit and herb blends were soaked for three days before being combined. In a pot on the burner, we mixed honey, frankincense resin, myrrh resin, and pine resin to create a sticky fragrant binder for the incense, then mixed the binder into the dried fruit and herbs mash. Over the next few d...

New Kyphi ~ Lavender Kyphi Supreme

This kyphi is not yet complete. The Scented Djinn is in the process of creating a lush, sweet lavender based kyphi incense which should be ready in about a month or so (six weeks, perhaps). Kyphi, once finished with the formulating, takes a few weeks to mature, sometimes not reaching its full aromatic potential for months, even years! It is the most amazing incense the world has to offer. So save up your ducats and keep an eye on the blog, or the Facebook page, or the Etsy Apothecary for the introduction of Lavender Kyphi Supreme.
