Enough of the Shameless Plugs

Two things prompted me to start a blog specifically for selling myself like a shameless hussy -- one, I don't like selling myself like a shameless hussy on my perfume experience blog, Oh, True Apothecary!. Never have. It's no wonder I lie awake nights trying to figure out why I'm not being properly financially compensated for all my hard work if I'm tentatively, without much enthusiasm, and with guilt in my heart, plugging my business on my non-business blog. And two, because of Donna Marie Coles. She's got a video up on YouTube, which is related to her website/blog, and also linked to Facebook, in which she discusses the necessity of "owning" the outlet from which you reach your customer base. It can't be Twitter ("icing on the cake, not the cake"), or Facebook. It has to be a blog or a newsletter or some other consistent business related outlet that displays your brand prominently -- my brand is The Scented Djinn.

I welcome you to my perfumery and apothecary, where the business part of my passion for natural botanical perfumery begins.
